How to wear mint green eyeshadow

Mint Eyeshadow
We admit that pondering how to wear mint green eyeshadow isn’t the deepest of thoughts, but in our office, it’s something that’s crossed our minds on more than one occasion. When left to go at it alone, our attempts have been laughable—very “sixth grader experimenting with pastels for the first time.” The shade is wrong, the application too heavy, and the result chalky, not chic. But MAC senior artist Michelle Clark has given us hope. Below, she shares her top three tips for pulling off the mod look. According to her, this is how you do it:
1. “First off, keep it simple. A pop of the soft green shade can go a long way. If you have a bronzed deeper complexion, using mint as a liner can be a beautiful accent. I recommend MAC Technakohl Liner in Vent ($17, maccosmetics.com). You can apply it on top to create a colorful winged look or use it on the waterline to add a colorful pop to the inside of your eye, then add a hefty dose of deep brown mascara to top and bottom lashes.”
2. “If you’re on the fairer side, try MAC Eye Shadow in Aqua ($6,maccosmetics.com) layered over MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating ($17,maccosmetics.com). Use the white pencil as a base all over the lid, then press the aqua color shadow on top to create the perfect mint-colored eye. Next, sweep some soft brown matte shadow through the crease. A great option for this is MAC Eye Shadow in Wedge ($16, maccosmetics.com). Pair it with a pale pink nude lip to finish the look.”
3. “For an evening look on any skin tone, try mint shadow in the inner corner of the eye only, then blend a soft warm gold through the center and finish with a deeper matte brown on the outer corner. This will give you that minty pop, but look chic when mixed with warm bronzy browns on the outside of the eye.”
